Ms. Williams is a Certified Hoop Instructor, Certified Zumba Instructor, and Certified Twerk Fitness Instructor. The Hooping class consists of a 10-minute warm-up; 40-minute cardio-toning segment and 10-minute cool down with the use of a weighted Hoop. The accompanying music is 1940’s Swing dance, Balboa, Blues, Afrobeat, Lindy and Zumba-inspired songs of various beats per minute (60 to 240). Different dance steps and routines, with arm movements & use of props for toning, are performed in rhythm to music.

The Hoop is a circular classroom. Each day, each time, I learn something new about other Hoopers and myself. Who You/I AM outside of our Hoop is who You/I AM inside of our Hoop.

Objectives:

 

To experience & explore the elements of form, connection, movement and musicality while Hooping to various musical genres.

To discover one’s Mojo i.e., Mini Oscillations Juxtaposed on an Object, as it applies to one’s ability to merge with the Hoop, grade one’s motor efforts and sync with the rhythm/beat of the music or intent of the lyrics; and

To unwind, de-stress, improve core strength, enhance balance responses, meditate, become centered and build endurance.

To participate in Dance Fitness classes with unique approach and tool for positive results.
